Welcome to the web-site of St Monica School, B’Kara.
Many of you who are visiting this web-site know about the school and its ethos. Many of you are present, past or prospective students, parents and staff members. But I am sure that there are others among you who do not know us so well. Welcome to all of you!
We are a Catholic school run by the Augustinian Sisters, Servants of Jesus and Mary and a dedicated lay staff who all work together with love and enthusiasm. As a school we feel enriched by the diversity of students that we accept into our school without any distinction of ability, socio-economic class or race. We work hard to create at St Monica’s an environment of love and care for each student and a recognition of her intrinsic worth as the “precious treasure” that Mother Foundress Maria Teresa Spinelli calls her – Mission Statement.
We firmly believe that each and every individual is endowed with special qualities and gifts and our educational aim is to help each student develop these qualities to the fullest and thus achieve fulfillment, educational and otherwise.
Our web-site will, I hope, give you an idea of the kind of holistic education that we offer our students and the various routes we take to help develop their potential to the fullest. We do all this in the spirit of our school motto EVERYDAY BETTER which constantly guides our educational vision.
As an educational institution we build on a strong bed-rock of tradition and strong Christian principles while moving forward with the times in the matters of educational theory and practice.
Of course, all this can never be put into practice without the sincere and constant co-operation of all our stakeholders. To all of these stakeholders, students, parents, sisters, teachers and all other staff, this web-site is dedicated.
It is the fruit of all their work and efforts. May all of you who browse through it appreciate all this work and find the site an enjoyable and educational experience.
